Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update in the United States for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6. These devices had already received the update globally earlier in the week, and the US rollout is now officially underway.
At this stage, the update is limited to carrier-locked US CSC devices, with wider availability expected in the coming days for other variants. Different firmware builds are being used for each device. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is receiving build S928USQU5DZDR, the Galaxy S24 FE is getting S721USQUBDZDP, the Galaxy Z Fold6 is on F956USQU3DZDQ, and the Galaxy Z Flip6 is receiving F741USQU3DZDP. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are also reported to be receiving One UI 8.5 in the US, though their exact firmware versions have not been confirmed yet.
Since the global rollout already happened earlier this week, Samsung users outside the US including those in Pakistan should either already have the update or should expect it very shortly. The rollout is gradual by design, meaning not every device gets it at the same moment. Samsung staggers updates to catch any serious bugs before they reach millions of users at once.
Users who have not yet received the notification can check manually by going to Settings, tapping Software update, and selecting Download and install.
One UI 8.5 is a significant mid-cycle update for Samsung, sitting between One UI 8 and the upcoming One UI 9. While the article does not detail the full feature list, updates in this range from Samsung typically bring improved Galaxy AI features, battery and performance refinements, updated security patches, and general stability improvements across the interface.
